Letter from the Founder
For more than a decade now, I have traveled over 2,000 miles to make a birthday cake for a sweet little niece. And then birthday cakes for her brother. And now birthday cakes for the baby sister. It became a tradition without plan.
Within those last 10 years, I also owned 3 small businesses in 3 different states. Time was not on my side, but priority and perspective remained my constant. What could I control in such limited time in a season of hustle & professional growth? That question always seemed fleeting but somehow, I could find just enough to fly away (amidst sleep deprivation and exhaustion) to form a memory with people I adore.
In these late nights after a 4-hour flight and 2-hour time change, I am renewed. The soft glow of kitchen lights, the absence of professional baking tools, the routine sound of a mixer & creating a full rainbow palette with only primary colors just makes sense. Within those mesmerizing twirls of butter, one can find pure simplicity.
The sense of belonging in a sentimental space like this evokes happy memories meant to be shared. There is no standard to meet and seeing nostalgia form right before you is a true gift of time. In this sacred place, SMöR Bake Standard was created.
