What is best for me? Powders or Liquids? First of all, you can’t go wrong but if you are looking for perfection, keep reading!
Keep in mind, powders will give you A LOT of color with minimal product used. They are intense, rich & vibrant.
Liquids will give you deep, vibrant colors in smaller batches but will give you more pastel in large batch dough, frosting, etc.
It comes down to a matter of preference, but if you are wanting a few suggestions, this is what we like!
The LIQUID colors were specifically designed for buttercream icing and fondant because there is room for error and correction in these bases. However, THEY CAN be used in other sweet treats! Because they are a liquid/liquid gel consistency, takes more product to get deep colors.
Our LIQUIDS are easy to use (just like your classic food color drops!) and are suggested for:
buttercream
fondant
dough (will pull lighter color vs deep)
for other sweets, keep in mind it is a liquid (liquid gel consistency) and will change the texture in sensitive elements
takes more color to get dark colors in large batch buttercream
We suggest POWDERS for (almost everything!):
dough
fondant
buttercream
royal icing
anything that is sensitive or can break down easily should use POWDERS
There is SO much info and science behind natural colors, anthocyanins (colors derived from plants and berries) and how acid and PH levels become factors in making sweet treats. We will do our best to educate you to find the best product.
*Your purchase comes with detailed instructions. Remember: natural colors can settle, harden and easily clump together so be sure to gently break up any clumps in your powder and fully dissolve before adding to your finished product. Liquid just needs a gentle shake!

Instructions:
Simply add water at a 1:1 ratio with more water for softer colors and less water for vibrancy. So many variations to achieve the perfect color for your treats!
With any natural color, please test and color a small amount in your icing to see the results first before committing to the whole batch! Icing will continue to darken over several hours, too.
•Store unused color in a dark cool area away from heat and direct light.
